May 2010 Sabine Lake Fishing Report

Sabine Lake - Saltwater Fishing Report

MAY 2010
Sabine Lake Fishing is great. We are fishing mid lake to the north end and to east pass. Also the ICW fishing over shell flats working 2ft to 4ft water, keying on birds. Also working early morning speckled trout to 5 lbs and fishing open water with nice red fish mixed in this pattern. This has been working well, tides have been coming in early morning and the mid day bite has been on the shoreline. Keying on shrimp/mullet fishing slow and finding bait boxing, good numbers of speckled trout on outgoing tides. Also the flounder fishing has picked up with the high tides, fishing the points and drops 2 to 4 ft water, and working the mouths of bayous. My best flounder bite is on out going tides and fishing grass points with the light north winds this month. Sabine pass jetties have started to hold nice speckled trout red fish in the early morning. Beach Front fishing has picked up with nice speckled trout showing in the early morning bite. Sabine pass channel is holding nice flounder fishing at 2ft to 6ft water, off points and drops, keying on bait on shell flats with red fish mixed in. My Best Baits are Stunt Grunt, Browns, Devils Eye, Down South Lures, Fishbites, and Shrimp tipping with each bait best fishing Red fish/Flounder. Also using Xtreme Scent 5" jerk Baits and Sonar Shad B Dogs Spoons for Fishing the birds.

Good Fishing.
