Lake Champlain - Freshwater Fishing Report
We have been running charters a couple of days a week on Lake Champlain with four to round out our season on the lake next week. The Salmon have been hitting very good in the early am and evenings with a few being picked away at during the mid day. We have been runing the deep stuff mid day which has allowed us to pick up some really nice lakers! Salmon have been coming off from down riggers & slide divers , down 35 to 50 ft deep over 150 to 275ft of water. Small sppons like speedyshiners & michigan stingers still continue to produce. The big lakers have been mainly in the 85 to 100 ft deep areas, trolling inline & verticle flashers with larger glow spoons taking most fo the fish!
Lake Champlain Fishing Forecast:
We are expecting the Salmon to still continue to hit through the rest of the month, as well as the lake trout! The end of the month will find us transitioning over to Lake Ontario in search of King & coho Salmon along with Brown trout & Steelhead! The reports out of Oswego & Lake Ontario have been the best we have seen in ten years! Full lmits of Kings & Browns have been common, we expect the same to continue!
Target Species:
Landlock Salmon..transitioning to KING Salmon!
