Catch 100 peacock bass in a day? How about just in the afternoon?
I really have no idea how many fish we all caught, but the two young men fishing off the point (Secret Spot) caught more than 100. (using live bait and lures) The kids in the boat were hooked up to a fish every time I looked up. They would position the boat, cast, and hook up... Dale (on the kayak) and I were not doing to shaby ourselves.
From the time I got there (Secret Spot) around 3:00 until I left around 6:00 it was constant action. We all caught fish around one pound, but I would guess the average at closer to 2 pounds. My largest was 3 and one of the guys on shore caught a 5 pounder. But the exciting thing was the constant action. I'm enjoying the action while the weather is hot. In Jan. when the water temperature drops to 78 degrees, these schooling fish will only be a memory.
Oh, Blue Boat Point already had 3 boats fishing there.... (read really catching lots fish) that's why we moved on up to Morgan's Pt. (Secret Spot)

Wish the fishing was that good right now..... The water temperature is way down to 75 degrees and all thost tropical fish have gone into hibernation..... in a word, the fishing action right now is S-L-O-W.
Largemouth bass guys are doing all right, but it's tough catching a peacock.
Can't wait till the water temperature hits 79/80+ so the action will start up again. Peacock bass love hot water and sunshine. Summer and fall are definatly the best fishing. Spawning time in the spring is lots of fun too. Aloha, Stan

The last 2 weeks hav been raining, and cold.... cold for Hawaii anyway. Just scattered action... only 1 or 2 fish. The peacock bass have started spawning though. So it won't be long till the water heats up, the sun comes out, and the peacock bass will be active again.
Here's a 5 pounder a friend of mine caught yesterday. Aloha, Stan

He's still catching fish just like the one in the picture. The other day in pouring rain he gave me a dozen little talapia, and we started catching too. We haven't been having those 100fish days this fall, but we have been into some quality fish.
