2. At Auburndale, small, clear lakes producing big bass, with some sight fishing beds at spots like Lake Agnes near Polk City, reports Bob Stone. North Winter Haven chain seeing plenty of bass up to 6-7 pounds.

3. At Winter Haven, Lake McLeod giving up some trophy-class bass in bedding areas. Eagle Lake should be prime for big fish, too, along with other small, clear-water lakes around city. South chain continues to produce bass up to 6-8 pounds flipping inside grass lines.

5. At Lake Marion near Haines City, no limits, but good-sized specks spawning in grass lines. One angler caught 19 up to 11⁄2 pounds Wednesday despite 10-20 mph winds, reports Ray Chase at Bannon's Camp. Bass numbers up, but nothing big.

6. At Lake Pierce, prime time for big bass with full moon on Tuesday, although Jennings Camp reports bass slow so far.

8. At Lake Toho, bass on post-spawn pattern, holding around isolated vegetation in 3-5 feet of water. Bass up to 8-9 pounds on shiners over weekend north of Makinson Island around Kissimmee grass or alligator weed (vine), reports Marc Detweiler at Big Toho Marina.

9. At Lake Kissimmee, Paul Cowen of Michigan boated a 14-pound, 1ounce bass last Wednesday on a shiner with guide Jay Turner of St. Cloud, reports Rob Murchie at Middleton's Fish Camp (407-436-1966).
