Lake Erie Steelhead Fishing

Postby JackSprat » Wed Feb 21, 2007 10:37 pm

I enjoy fishing and I guess if you are reading this you do too.

Bedding Bluegills with a fly rod and poppers, summertime wet wading for Channel Catfish and the spring spawning rum of slab Crappies are high on my to-do list. But over the years, I have been possessed by the steelhead demons.

The attacks start in late September and continue monthly through April. Even snow and ice do not stop the urge or keep me away. The only cure is traveling to Lake Erie and catching steelhead so that is just what I do.

If you have an interest and would like to see what I am talking about then check out my blog, pictures, videos and reports.

The most recent trips were ice fishing. As you can see, my ice fishing equipment is crude because Pennsylvania ice can be hit or miss, but that does not dull our enthusiasm once we get “safe ice.”

You can get some really big trout through an 8 inch hole.

When reading my blog, if you page down into the other stories, you will see some good fall trips minus the ice and snow. I wil organize the fall reports and post that blog as soon as possible.
