Walleye and perch are still the focus on Lake Erie; but as we get closer to the fall fishing season, the attention will begin to shift to steelhead.

It is time to "bookmark" information websites and to stay connected. Check out www.fishsteelheadalley.com [FSA] to see how the website has been upgraded. In fact, this month and each month throughout the year, the content of FSA will be updated with new photos, links, and stories.

FSA is designed to be an information sharing site that complements other sites where “reports” are posted by registered individuals. You are encouraged to email information or photo attachments to FSA. Your information will be combined with what others send, and a composite report will be maintained. You should include your first name and home town so FSA can give you credit for the information you provide. Anglers with camera phones who want to share current stream conditions can email photos, and they will be posted as soon as possible. Everyone will benefit from accurate information.

There currently is a "steelhead preview" story on FSA that shows how the McKean Hole was changed after a summer storm, and there is information on a new stream gauge on Walnut Creek.

You can get involved in FSA. Send your content contributions or questions to: [email protected].
