Press Release – New Nautilus™ Fly Reels

Postby RudyGomez » Thu Oct 02, 2003 11:52 am

Old Florida Fly Reels introduced the revolutionary Nautilus™ line of reels for 2004 at this year’s Fly Tackle Retail Show. The Nautilus reels feature a sealed maintenance-free, free-floating, draw bar cork disc drag system, dubbed the Nautilus™ drag (patent pending) that combines the durability and smoothness of a cork-disc drag with the ease of maintenance of a synthetic drag reel. This new feather light line of reels sport a silent retrieve, a smooth outgoing signal, and a pop off spool for easy line changing. The Nautilus is currently available in 5 models: Three Super Arbor reels to cover line weights 7 through 12 for big fish in fresh and salt water, and two Ultra Arbor reels designed for Spey and blue water fly fishermen that require Spool diameters up to 5 inches for ultra-fast line retrieval.

Also for 2004, Old Florida will launch a large arbor Nautilus™ Feather Weight fresh water line of reels which will differ from their salt water counterparts in that they will have synthetic drags and can be easily converted from left hand to right hand retrieve. The Nautilus FW reels will be available in 4 models for line weights 2 to 9. All Nautilus™ reels are fully machined from T-6061 aerospace grade aluminum, are 100% made in the USA, and are backed by a lifetime warranty.
