i am pretty good fishing in islamorada around april throughout summer is a good time to go fishing in the backwaters for snook and tarpon and redfish. fishing off a reef is relatively easy and many great fish are available like snapper and grouper. for snook and redfish and tarpon in the back waters use some mirrolures that are excellent and proven to catch. over the reefs for groupers use bucktails or cut mullet or live mullet (if available) and for snapper you can use DOA shrimps, small jigs, spoons, and cut bait. almost everythibg fish which is legal size is excellent table fare. hope this helped
