I don't fish the inside much, but some of the best tarpon fishing can found along the beach just north of the Haulover jetty. Use live shrimp...

Fish along the beaches in about 20 ft of water drifting live shrimp on a 6/0 eagle claw circle hook start about 100ft eiter south of the south jetti or north of the north jetty. and drift 2<3 if u can> shrimp on straight mono. SOmetimes they are inside of the jetties. The bie will only get better. And..if you see a boat by the name of Knot Nancy. Fish away from it but in the same area as they are....Capt. Dave Kostyo catches fish! Give him a call and he will show you where they are ....that way you may do it on your boat thereafter!

Catch em UP!

You posted this message back in January. There was some decent sea trout fishing that time of year on the flats and on the edges using a live shrimp and orange popper. Really early in the mornign or just before dark.

Right now that area is ridiculous with Tarpon. They are rolling everywhere. If you drift a live mullet or shrimp you are putting yourself in a great position to catch a nice Tarpon. Snook too but they will gulp a mullet if you stick him on the bottom. Nightime is best.
