African Pompano..Part 2
Posted: Sun Mar 07, 2004 9:40 pmWith the beautiful weather today, calm seas and blue skies, decided the wreck hop again in the Maverick. Along for the ride was my brother and his son, Nightsnooker. Got bait pretty easy and hit the first wreck and after a bunch of drops all we to show was a 10lb king by NS. We moved on and the next one was loaded with AmberJacks. I took 2 on 15# Plug Tackle to 35 lbs. and my brother caught one about 40.
Hit a new spot and made a couple drifts landing some small groupers
After those the big boy of the trip hit. An estimated 40lb African Pompano by my Bro on 20# Power Pro.
The fish was released in great shape!! Hit a few more wrecks and got 1 more AJ.
