A friend and I will spending the week of Thanksgiving 03 in Marathon Key.
He wants to spend a lot of time reef fishing while I would like to fish the
flats and backwater around the small islands of the Atlantic and Bay sides. Which would be more productive this time of year? What baits would bring the best results? He has a 19' Boston Whaler. It doesn't matter what we catch since we catch and release.

Thanks,

This is great time of year for either side of marathon. Yo can target the Ocean side patch reefs for bottom fish and mackeral or hit the drop off for kings sails and tuna. The gulf vcan b good this time also. Go to sprigger bank and use block chum to attract all sorts pf fish. A great idea is to rent a portable GPS w/ numbers from the Tackle Box tackle store in Marathon. Give them a call before going!
