8) I fished Monday with Gregg Bedell, 13 miles west of New Pass, over live bottom, with shrimp. We caught seven mangrove snapper, all about 14 inches, and a 13 inch yellowtail. I fished Wednesday with John Duritch and grandson, Tim Duritch, 14 miles southwest of New Pass, where we caught Spanish mackerel to 22 inches, keeper mangrove snapper, triggerfish and grunts. We released short red grouper.

Friday, I fished with Bob McCoy and sons Duane and Craig, in 45 feet, 20 miles southwest of New Pass, using live shrimp and cut-bait. We caught keeper mangrove and lane snapper, a 25 inch bonito, and released a 49 inch barracuda, a 3 ½ foot lemon shark, and red grouper shorts.

Alan and Cynthia Gitikin fished with me Saturday morning, before the thunderstorms drove us in. We caught Spanish mackerel to 24 inches, keeper mangrove snapper & triggerfish, and large porkfish, about 12 miles southwest of New Pass.
