The annual Fall migration of Kingfish is starting to arrive!
Numerous reports of Kings in the 30+ pound range have been reported as far south as Egmont Key. This past week, we ventured into the 60 foot depths looking for Gag Grouper and found many smaller fish readily available. My clients had to work hard to bring a couple home that went 12 pounds.
While bottom fishing, we employed a flat line that was nailed by a 20 pound King.
We decided to troll on the way home and caught and released 2 more Kings along with a couple hefty 5 pound Spanish Mackerel.

It’s going to only get better as our temperatures drop, cooling the waters to the liking of most pelagics.

Good Fishin’ to ya!
