With cold fronts passing through our area every seven days, it is imperative to closely monitor the weather before heading out. This time of year the water temperature hovers in the 55-65 degree range, making some species of fish reluctant to bite.
This past week, with water temps in the low 60’s, the Gag Grouper bite has moved closer to shore. Fishing just 8 miles from the beach, we caught Gags to 15 pounds using sardines, pinfish, and grunts.
Closer to shore, the silver trout action is heating up just off the tiderip.
The Redington Pier area in 10-12 feet of water is holding numerous Trout in the 12-15 inch size. They are being taken on tandem lures like Love’s Lures.

With this week’s cold front coming in on Wednesday, the weekend should be great—inshore or offshore!
Good Fishin’ to ya!
