Water Temp on the Rise

Postby gulfcoastcracker » Thu Jul 07, 2011 12:31 pm

We spent the holiday weekend on the flats off of Low's bay looking for trout. The 84 degree water temperature has slowed the trout fishing. We did get a couple over the 20 inch mark, but more under sized fish than anything. We were using the popping cork method with a DOA shrimp. We heard reports there were some reds and tarpon around but we didn't see any. The water was cloudy on the north (near the Waccasassa River) and to the south near the trout stake. We were thinking we might see some scallops but none were there.
