Once again, the ever-changing weather pattern has dictated fishing plans.
This past week, the same Westerly wind of 3 weeks prior brought rain and high wind/waves into the picture.
Saturday morning, the winds were low enough to run out 15 miles in search of Grouper.
That 2-hour window was all we needed to grab a couple of hungry Gag Grouper in 55 feet of water. Employing frozen sardines and pinfish, my clients landed about 20 fish before the wind kicked up and we headed home.
Sunday, it was impossible to head offshore, so we headed for the grass flats for some inshore action.
Lee Turner and wife Kim caught Sea trout, Flounder, and Pompano over a four-hour period on the incoming tide. That assortment of fine eating fish was just what they were looking for as the recommendation of a nearby “You-hook-em We cook-em” restaurant was eagerly anticipated.
Tight Lines!
