Thursday Night Slam 6-28-07

Postby Capt Marty » Sat Jul 07, 2007 5:54 pm

I had the pleasure of taking Andy Crawford with Louisiana Sportsman fishing Thursday night, and my good friend Joel Wakeland (BigRed) came along to help. The trip was a total success. The water was very clean and green. Shortly after arriving we commenced to catching fish slowly. A storm was coming our way but ended up going to the West of us. The seas kicked up to around 3ft and the trout started biting on every cast. We caught trout up to 25 1/2 inches on plastic, only caught 5 on live shrimp. I normally NEVER use live bait at night, but this trip was special so I picked up some shrimp just for insurance . We caught many 3 and 4 pound fish with the biggest going 4 # 14 oz. We left them biting when we were finished. I only took one picture with my camera on the boat, but Andy took plenty of great photos that will be in the August issue of Louisiana Sportsman Magazine. Thanks Andy, It was really nice meeting and fishing with you.
