9-1-07 Dularge Trout Slam

Postby Capt Marty » Tue Sep 04, 2007 6:24 pm

Helped out Capt Bill today, onboard were Glen Stewert, Darren Knapp, Jay Wilson, and Karson Bates. The guys had a rough night, so we left the dock a little late!!! No problem though, we still slammed the trout when we got to the Hot Spot!!!! As soon as we pulled up you could see shrimp skiping across the water everywhere with trout in hot pursuit! It was 1-2 fish every cast, with everyone in the boat hooked up. The first school had a bunch of 11-12in fish, but after drifting around we got into some nicer fish going 13-17in. Everything caught on plastic tangem rigged Bayou Chubs....Nothing better!!!!!!! Around 8:30 when the bite slacked off we headed North In search of reds. The water was 1 Ft lower than I like so we could not really get to where I wanted to. We ended up with 75 trout, 2 reds, 2 flounder (1 doormat), and a drum. Awesome day to be on the water as the weather was perfect. Big thanks to Capt Bill for setting up the trip.
