9-3-07 Smokin Hot Trout Action on the DU

Postby Capt Marty » Tue Sep 04, 2007 6:26 pm

Wow, what a day we had today!! The trout action in Dularge is smokin HOT, three days in a row now!! Faron Scioneaux, his son Mason, and Julie Zeringue joined me today and were extremely impressed with today's trip. As soon as our baits hit the water at our one and only stop, it was double's we pulled in. I knew right away it was going to be a good day. Faron had many "FIRST TIME's" today.....First time seeing shrimp jumping out the water everywhere being chased by trout, First time catching trout every cast, First time limiting out with 100 trout, etc........they had a blast to say the least. Faron also learned just how greedy and hungry these Dularge trout are!!!! He had his rod n reel laying on the deck with his bait in the water and a trout slammed it and took the pole. Unfortunately we could not find the $300.00 rig. Disappointing as it was, Faron pushed on and continued to slay the trout. Many small trout again today with big numbers hitting the deck (at least 250-300), 2-3 throwbacks per keeper. Trout 100 hit the ice at 9:05 and we were heading North. Thanks Faron, it was great fishing with you guys again and I look forward to our next trip.
