Made the Best of a Bad Day 10-8-07 trip

Postby Capt Marty » Wed Oct 10, 2007 8:00 pm

Helped out Capt Bill today with Dwade, Robert, and Eric Hughes from Shreveport. The knocking of the lower unit started when we passed the little White camp with blue shutters, I had to shut the motor down and resort to plan B. I could only idle, so we started beating the banks only catching 1 undersized red. With the water being so high(1 1/2 - 2ft above normal), the reds were no where to be found. Saw flocks of birds everywhere in the lake and idled over and set up wind of them. We started catching trout right away. We caught about 50 trout which only 12 were keepers, 1 bullred on a sparkle beetle under a cork, and 6 hardheads. Considering our situation, we made the best of a bad day!! BIG thanks to Capt Bill and the White Knight for the tow in!!!!!
