Tightlines on a Windy Day 10-27-07

Postby Capt Marty » Mon Oct 29, 2007 5:15 pm

Helped out Capt Bill today with a 3 boat crew from Diesel Specialist out of Baton Rouge. In my boat I had Jason Labello, Alan Hutson, Todd Silessi, and David Bergeron. We left from the Reel Inn Reel early, passing up probably 50 + oyster boats heading out.....many with no lights Arrived at our first stop and had trout coming in the boat in no time at all . When the bite slowed we made a move and were on them again. We fished about 5 spots and caught trout at every stop. We caught approx 70 trout today boxing 43. Plenty of double and triple hook ups for the guys. I wanted to get the guys on some big red fish for their tournament, but we only boated one red going right at 16 inches. We hit a deep hole and ended up catching 7 Sheephead and a drum. One flounder fell for the Lsu chub while fishing for trout. All in all it was a great day and these guys were real fun to fish with. The guys ended the day with a real nice box for such a windy day. Who said the fish don't bite on windy days
