Another great morning "Down Dularge". I had the pleasure of fishing with Chris Ginn with LaSportsman and my good friend Capt. Joel "Big Red" Wakeland. Chris is writing a article that will appear in the July issue of the Sportsman, so it was important to get him on a good trip!!! We were greeted with fairly calm seas this morning which made for a nice run to our bashing grounds!!!!! The trout were very cooperative this morning and ate up our Berkley Gulp and Powerbaits like there was no tomorrow!!!! The Yellow-Mouths were coming in on the tandem rigs 1-2 at a time every cast. We caught fish on a assortment of colors in the Berkley baits today. The 4 inch Gulp Goby in the watermelon color really did the damage though, as the trout could not get enough of them. Powerbaits in black/chartreuse did its damage also. After putting 75in the box by 9:00 averaging 1 1/2 - 2 pounds I wanted to try and target a few BIG fish, so we left the fish biting and headed further South to soak some croakers. We caught 5 more trout all 2-3 pounds, but none going 5# plus like I had hoped for. It was a treat for all of us to hook into 4 Cobia. We boated one that was too small and the other 3 Big one's broke off. Other fish caught today were Blue fish, Lady Fish, shark, Red fish. Dularge is on FIRE right now and can only get better as this wind should continue to lay down. Huge thanks goes out to Gerald Gaspard with Pure Fishing for providing us with all the baits for our trip today. Thank you also Chris and Joel for a great day of fishing and memories made.
