Fully updated reports from March 13- April 29,2008
Scroll down for Pictures of the Last Bluewater trip

3-13-21-2008 Galveston Bay Fishing ( Jetty Area )

I have had Captain Dan tearing up the jetties for the past week. So far the redfish is holding and so are the blackdrum, As of today the Sheephead (convicts) cause they steal your bait started showing up.No sharks yet but, should start showing up end of april. http://www.workingmancharters.com

3-21-22-2008 - Boomvang

Well, This trip never made it to Boomvang they ended up not having a big enough fuel tank so instead they just turned it into a bluewater trip to Tequila trying to catch whatever they could find. Boated several nice amberjack, kings and a load up vermillion snapper weighing pretty good size so everyone got fish.trolled but, found no wahoo then turned around and came back into dock.

3-21-30-2008

Captain Dan had a Galveston close in trip, Managed some statewater snapper,2 bullreds, several blackdrum released at boatside. Also on the latest trip he was catching sheephead

4-1-6-2008

Deep water trips are producing some Nice Big amberjack and grouper and grain feed vermillion snapper, Ling and wahoo are still scattered around the gardens so are the mako's. Dan brought me a report of a big one that decided he could get a free meal from his boat he did too he managed to bite in half a nice 40lb amberjack right in half. Thats adrenaline hahaha,, You just have to watch the weather blowing up. And be ready to take the first open hole out. http://www.workingmancharters.com

4-09-2008

Galveston bay Fishing- Fishing the bay has been getting slower with redfish and trout and sheephead. The winds have been pushing the water out of west bay and most boats haven't been able to get in and get any trout fishing done. The sheephead were showing up until the winds showed they are still there just very scattered. The redfish at the boat cut have slowed alot. Even the tift showed signs of fish patterns slowing down. Waters are warming Come On shark! No sharks yet but, should be showing in a few weeks.http://www.workingmancharters.com

Bluewater trips 4/12 and 4/16 had been posponed due to high winds and seas These trips will be rebooked

4-19-2008

This was a long range trip 75 miles out.
Sea's were not to bad. Made the run brought in Full limits for 4 people Amberjack,Kingfish were kinda scarce around stetson rock not a good bite we sat there awhile and only managed 1 kingfish so we moved on and managed a few more.Found a stray shark and brought him in, and managed full limits of vermillion snapper.
Haven't got any photo's of this trip. For Hire.
Right now we are only running deepwater trips and Bay fishing trips out of Galveston.
No Kings in close yet, wahoo are not in yet either, Most of what we fish for haven't moved in close will update when they do.

4-20-2008

I Had 3 Boats running jetty trips out this Sat-Sun. with 6 people onboard all Galveston boats brought limits of the legal keeper drum, sheephead all kept and boxed and cleaned at the dock and 1 no show at the boat on Sat. Very nice people. I will be adding alot of reports but, most are all Jetty trips right now. Unless Captain Dan Can calm the wind gods and be able to run. We had had alot of bluewater trips to 80 miles but, the winds have really keep us all at dock. We fish when we can get out.

Galveston Blue water 4-22-2008

Boat 2
Captain Dan
Brought in some nice amberjack, and ling, and kingfish and another nice size grouper and about 20 vermillion snapper and 2 lane. Fished about 70 miles out
Boat 3 and 4 Fished Galveston Jetty
Captain Mike and Marc fished at the jetty bringing in redfish and sheephead and a few gafttop and about 3 small drum

4-23-2008 Scouting Trip

Galveston Offshore Fishing - scouting trip
Had 2 boats out yesterday and found ling! from 25-30 lbs. Not big but, good eating fish brought in full limits. Captain Dan and Captain Bill's boats
They are starting to migrate in around 40 miles offshore in Galveston, Lots of baby sharks really wouldn't even want to keep any of these, didn't find any kingfish or spanish mackeral in close. Did find a few stranger statewater red snapper about 2 of them weighing around 5lbs a piece about 6 miles out not to far pass the jetties. No mahi yet.
It is still early we figure a couple more weeks and things should really light up offshore. Galveston seems to be holding some descent snapper this year. Big ling should be starting up in a week or so.
