Lake Fork Guide David Ozio Fishing Report 2-10-14

Postby David Ozio Guide » Mon Feb 10, 2014 8:22 pm

Even though this has been the worst winter in recent years, the bass fishing on Lake Fork Texas has been incredible. We have been sporting water temps between 38 and 43 degrees for several weeks and this doesn't seem to stop the fish from biting. We fished a guide tournament last weekend and the seven pounder's were coming out of the woodwork. It seemed like every boat had at least one in that weight range. Rattle traps have been the ticket and it's all hands on deck when the sun is out and the shallows have warmed to fifty degrees. I had two trips over the past week where we had 21 one day and 17 the next, all fish were between four and eight pounds. We had a blast.

The forecast looks warm starting on Feb. 13th and extends through the following week. This trap bite will be amazing during this warm period. I suspect that more fish will move up and areas of the lake that are void of grass will see and huge amount of fish move up onto the wood. Now is the time to be on the water. I have dates available so contact me to join in on the fun.
