Good wading in the St. Pete beach area?

Postby MH fla » Tue Sep 06, 2005 11:18 pm

I am new to the area and would like any information on good wading spots. I did a lot of wading in Bradenton. I just moved to St. Pete and would like to continue here, I just don't know where to go.

My parents live in St. Pete Beach. Last time I was down, I ran down to Tierra Verde and Fort De Soto Park and waded a couple of times. Lots of good access and quite a few species with varying water levels and structure.

Maybe we can go out and hit the water next time I make it down. Won't be til 06 I am afraid....

I am trying to talk my fishing club into a golf/fishing outing down there in the Spring.

Good Luck,

as previous post stated, ft. desoto is usually pretty good--except that red tide wiped out most of the fishing there this year.

hopefully it'll get back to normal in a few months...
