Early Season Inshore Fishing

Postby bennett » Fri Apr 18, 2003 3:17 pm

This time of year, while the water is still cool we are catching lots of redfish and black drum inshore. These fish can be caught on fresh shrimp (dead not alive) fished on a carolina rig with a #2 or #1 Eagle Claw wide bend hook. Just take a half piece of shrimp and thread it on the hook, and throw it up under a dock in a creek or along the waterway, and HOLD ON!!! This is a great fishing experience and lasts just a short time...until the pinfish show up when the water warms a bit. Yesterday we caught 9 redfish and 17 black drum. Most were released to fight another day. On light tackle; great sport and great fun.
