Hammerhead shark Hooked up

Captain Justin was at the helm of the Lady Pamela II this morning, and he set the boat up to kitefish for sailfish in 220 feet of water. It took a while, but a curious sailfish couldn’t resist a goggleye flipping around below the kite. The bite was on and a nice sailfish got hooked up, brought to the boat, and then was photographed and released.


Captain JJ and mate Mike were aboard the Lady Pamela IV, and they too set up to kitefish for sails off Ft. Lauderdale. They were relatively close to the LP II, and they hooked a sail shortly after the LPII had hooked their fish up. After the sailfish catch and release they moved into deeper water for some sharkfishing. Hammerhead sharks have been particularly plentiful of Ft. Lauderdale this spring, and today was no exception. In less than an hour the crew had a hammerhead on the hook, and the battle was on. The fish put up a good fight, but our angler had the fish behind the boat in less than twenty minutes. Nice catch!
