Lake Erie yelow perch
Fishing with Emerald Shiners minnows is the preferred method used by Lake Erie anglers to take yellow perch. The simplest and most effective technique uses two or three hooks attached to a spreader or "perch rig° and weighted with a sinker of up to two ounces. This is baited and sent down to the bottom. Anglers have become more successful by varying the location of the bait on or near the bottom. This jigging or movement technique up and down in the water column has led to better catches.
