Lake Eufaula, Alabama

Capt. Sam Williams
June 16, 2013
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Water Level 189.77 msl
Clarity Clear to slight stain
Water Temp Mid 70's

The water is at full pool keeping the fish scattered. All the cover on the banks in under water now, giving the bait fish more shallow water to hide in. This only means the fisherman needs to move a little more to find the fish. Just like ledge fishing, when you locate fish, you need to work out that area, do not be in a rush, work it with several baits, when one slow's down, work another. As the sun gets up and the heat starts to build, move to the closest deeper water.

Bass are doing good early and late in the pads and grass near shore. Top water, frog's, spinner and buzz bait's are working great. Sink a fluke type bait under the surface when the top water action slows down. The Jig bite is hot now, the craw's are in the red stage, anything in the skirt with res and a trailer with red in it will do the trick. Texas rig's are a good bet as well.

Crappie are hitting jig 's on the trash piles. Fan cast to locate the schools and get over the top of them and vertical jig to get a good mess. Some of the big guy's are showing up.

Bream are around the bank cover hitting worms. You will need to move along with your trolling motor 'till you find a bed and then set up and get ready for some fun fishing.

Cat fish are doing well on cut bait and worms. You will almost always get a few good eating size cat's when bream fishing.

June 29 is the date for the John Puckett benefit bass tournament at Lake Point State Park. John has cancer and needs all our help. Call Michelle Picket, 334 695 2164, for details. Let's get out and support the Picket family.

The final Lee King Tournament was a success with 139 boats registered. Visit www.leekingmemorial.org for results. Keep an eye on www.Alabamachildrensclassic.org for details about our new direction with the tournament. We are excited about the changes for 2014. Visit the site and sign up for our e-news letter and keep informed as we post news as it happens.

The day's are heating up and it gets really hot fast on the water. Be sure and keep plenty of water and sun screen on board with you, re-apply sunscreen as you sweat during the day, there are not many sun screens that will stay on all day in this heat. Be safe and enjoy your time on Beautiful Lake Eufaula, take your camera, God has great photo moments to treasure every day.

God Bless & Good Fishn'
Capt. Sam
