Lake Eufaula, Alabama

Capt. Sam Williams
July 20, 2013
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Water Level 190.0 msl
Clarity Stained to clear
Water Temperature 88 - 91 degrees F

The lake is at full pool and the shore cover is loaded with bait fish. The cloudy days make the shallow bite longer, as the day moves on, change from the top water bait to a submerged or bottom bait. Keep working slow. The ledge bite works around any type of cover or bend point, if the water is moving. A good sonar unit will get you on some good brush or other cover. Heavy jig's are a good choice. Black / Blue or browns are doing well.

Cat fish are eating regularly. Worms and cut bait are the trick. Some good squealers are biting in the late afternoon. There are good if you like skinned, sweet fried fish.

Pan fish are eating worms along the banks. You will do better if the wind will let you troll slowly along. If you anchor, you will get into a mess of smaller ones.

The back of the creeks are very muddy, if you are traveling to Eufaula, you will save time if you work the outside areas of the creeks and the river. The water color in these areas is good. Keep a close eye on the afternoon weather, it is a good idea to have a weather app. or someone to call to watch the afternoon storms. With the excessive heat, they build up and move in fast. Be safe, there are plenty of good days to get back out and fish. Be sure and keep plenty of water and sun screen with you.

Please check www.alabamachildrensclassic.org to see our progress and get your Bull Red fishing trip ticket.

Summer is almost over, be sure and get your kid's and grand kid's out on the water for some great family time. God has given us the perfect setting to make memories that will last many lifetimes.

God Bless & Good Fishn'
Capt. Sam
