Lake Eufaula, Alabama

Capt. Sam Williams
August 11, 2014
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Water Level 189.01 msl
Water temperature mid to upper 80's
Water Clarity Clear to slight stain

The summer heat is here for sure, afternoon thunder storms are almost certain. If you hear thunder, seek shelter, lightning is nothing to fool with.

The bass are still in the shallows early, spinners, buzz baits and slow moving plastics are working. The deeper fish are still working on crank baits, jigs with big trailers and slow moving heavy spinners.

Crappie can be taken on deep cover, brush piles, working vertical jigs. They are also hitting jigs on the shadow breaks under the bridges and causeways.

Pan fish are near bank cover and around cover on flats. Worms and crickets will get a bite.

Cat fish are really doing great on jugs in the creeks. Barbour creek, near the boat ramp and East to the barges are getting some nice fish on cut bait.

Remember to keep plenty of sun screen and water on these extremely hot days.
