Lake Eufaula, Alabama

Capt. Sam Williams
April 6, 2015
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake Eufaula, Alabama

Lake Level 187.53 msl
Water Temperature mid 60' s
Water Clarity slight stain to clear

The cold fronts and dropping water tables are keeping the fish confused and moving all over. They are trying to stay shallow as long as the water stays above 65 degrees.

Bass are getting hotter every day. Spinner baits and frogs are really great and getting some nice fish. Shallow running crank baits, chatter baits and lipless cranks are also good as the sun gets up. There are some great sacks coming in now and it will get better in the weeks to come.

Crappie are still doing great on trolled jig's and minnows under bobbers in the creeks. They are still on the ledge tops, some are trying to come shallow, if the water level will stay steady for a while.

Blue gill and shell crackers are starting to get right, crickets are the trick right now around cover on the banks and around the old pad fields in shallow water. Worms on the bottom will be great for shell crackers in the next week or so. We have some big ones showing up here in the past year or so.

Cat fish are a good choice on jug's or rods and reel on the bottom. Large worms or cut bait will get you a good mess for a great meal. Lake Eufaula catfish are the best , hands down to any you have ever eaten.

Please visit www.alabamachildrensclassic.org and sigh up for the news letter and help our efforts to support the kid's and their families while being treated at UAB Children's Hospital.

God Bless & Good Fishn'
Capt. Sam
