Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake Level 188.05 msl
Water Temperature Upper 80's
Water Clarity Stained to clear
The hot temperatures are making fishing conditions very tough. The early morning bite is over shortly after sun rise. The top water bite is still on in the pad cover first thing. Frogs, Spinner baits and buzz baits do the trick. Crank baits and Carolina rigs will work after the early bite slows, jigs will work as well, in deeper cover. Everything under water needs to be worked really slow.
Pan fish are under the brush where you find deeper water close to the banks.
Crappie can be jigged up on the ledges on trash piles.
Catfish are doing their thing on jugs, cut bait is best.
Be sure and keep plenty of water and sunscreen right now, this extreme heat is dangerous.
Tournament directors, visit www.wiregrassbass.org and post your tournament schedule. Alabama Children's Classic is sponsoring this as a tool for everyone to use to plan and also let folks know of events so they can fish or attend the weigh-in's.
God Bless & Good Fishn'
