Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Water level 187.73 msl
Water temperature mid 80's
Water clarity clear to slight stain
The mornings are cooling off and it is really pleasant to be on the water first thing now. The pads are beginning to die back but the bait fish are still holding in the cover. The top water bite is good early. We are getting some nice bass behind this cover next to the bank on buzz baits. The deeper fish are on the cover and man made fish attractors. These are easy to locate with your electronics. They still like a slower moving bait, Carolina rigs will work in these areas as well as jigs with a big trailer.
Crappie are holding on deeper cover and trash piles. The trash piles in Barbour creek are holding some good schools and jigs are working well.
Bream and catfish are cooperating and the results are well rewarded in a fine tasting meal of fresh Lake Eufaula fish.
Late morning and afternoons are still very hot. Be sure and keep sunscreen and with you and enjoy a safe rip on the water.
Be sure and visit www.alabamachildrensclassic.org to support the Children's Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. GatorGlades of Moore Haven, Florida has donates a guided gator hunt, tickets and details are on the site. Also, a link to our sponsored tournament calendar, www.wiregrassbass,org can be found there as well. We encourage all tournament directors to post their schedule here,, it is a tool for directors, fishermen and spectators to plan their season.
God Bless & Good Fishn'
