Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Water level 188.57 msl
Water temp low 80's
Water clarity clear to slight stain
The water is cooling off and the shallow bite is getting better. Chatter baits worked on the shallow cover is getting a good bite. When the sun gets up, work the creek cover. Look for shade spots under the hanging trees. Work these same areas with soft plastics. Wacky rigged trick worms are still working. Deeper fish are still wanting a slow presentation. Big plastics on Carolina rig's and heavy jig's with big creature baits will work.
Shell crackers on on the flats. Wigglers are the answer to a good mess of fish. Crappie are still deep and scattered for the most part.
Catfish are doing ok on jugs in the creeks baited with cut bait.
The weather is getting a little better, winds are keeping it tolerable for the longer days on the water. Be sure and hydrate and use plenty of sun screen.
We have a new need in our fishing community. Scott Woodruff, one of our local firefighters in in need of a heart transplant. Please visit our web site, www.alabamachildrensclassic.org and click on the letter from the National Foundation for Transplants and pray about making a donation to support the process. Scott must have funds for the post op process med's to sustain the recovery process. Our community needs to support one of our hero's.
Be safe on the water and treasure what God has given us.
God Bless & Good Fishn'
Capt. Sam
