Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake Eufaula, Alabama

Water level.not available today
Water clarity Stained to Clear
Water temperature mid to upper 80's

Bass fishing has picked up in the shallows and flats as the shad begin to school again. The lipless crank baits are getting a lot of fish, slow down the retrieve and get the larger fish lurking below the smaller fish, waiting on the injured shad to sink.

Finesse worms worked on a shakey head are doing well around any type of structure.

Ledge bass are hitting deep running crank baits and Carolina rigs with soft plastics. The absence of the hydrilla has brought back the old time ledge fishing. We have been setting out on a drop and continuing to catch and cull fish all day.

Cat fish are on a hot streak again. We can easily clean a hundred pounds in an eight hour trip.

Crappie fishermen are still working the flats during the day light hours, drifting minnows and working a "hot" spot as they move over them.

Bream and shell crackers are hitting red worms near any hanging brush.

Have a look www.leekingbenefit.org for opportunities to become involved with saving lives and research for terminal Niemann-Pick disease kids. The Kentucky hunting trip will be drawn for next month. It is a good trip for a $10.00 chance. One trip for deer and one for turkey for the same ticket. New lodge and good food.

Remember to keep a close eye on the sky this time of year, storms and lightning come on you quick and can get dangerous.

"Till next report,

God Bless & Good Fishn'
