Alabama Fishing Report for Lake Eufaula

Capt. Sam Williams
August 1, 2001
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Bass fishing continues to be tough in the summer heat and humidity. Around 10:00 A.M. the sun is already beating down at over 100 degrees. The winds make it bearable. The Bass are in deeper water just off the ledges. Carolina rigs and heavy jigs are still the best bet. The Tennessee rig from Carlson tackle is the answer to the frustrations of hang ups with the conventional Carolina rig.

Crappie are still hitting minnows early and late where ever you locate a drop off. We were bass fishing this past week and watched a couple catch a nice mess in just a little while.

Catfish are always cooperative if you are looking for a great meal. There is nothing like a fresh cooked mess of catfish with some biscuits and cheese grits.

We have set out date for all future Lee King Benifit Buddy Tournaments for the second weekend in June. we will have it at Lake Point State Park and the kids event will also be there so we can host the Moms and kids while Dad is fishing for the Big Money. We will have the ebtry form ready early this year and you will want to make reservations for your motel room before they all fill up. If you need information write me at [email protected] Thank you too all who fished and supported our efforts, you made it possible to donate $11,00.00 to the National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation, Inc. to aid in finding a cure for this heart breaking disease. If you want info on the disease go to www.nnpdf.org

Take a kid fishing and share the great outdoors with them. God has given us a tool we sometimes fail to use to get closer to our children. They are our future, show them the right path.

'till next week,

God Bless & Good Fishn'

Capt. Sam
