Alabama Fishing Report for Lake Eufaula

Capt. Sam Williams
May 26, 2002
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Bass fishing is getting better every day as the summer weather patterns set in. The water temp. is staying hotter and it is easier to follow the fish patterns. They are shallow early and if you are on the water and see the water flowing up-stream, they will stay in the shallows longer in the morning. The normal pattern is when the sun gets up over the Georgia bank, the fish will begin to move to the ledges. A switch to heavy jigs or carolina rigs will prove productive.

Crappie are still hitting at night, the boats still light up the creeks under the bridges and minnows are the best bet.

Bream are being taken up some creeks and they are really fun to take on worms or small spinner baits.

Summer is the best time to find a bank with shade and tie up and relax with your family while waiting on a nice Catfish to give you a great fight. If Mom does not like to fish, have her take along a book and the camera. It is always fun for the family to enjoy God's great outdoors.

Plans are coming together for the Lee King Benefit Buddy Tournament and Kid's Fun Day for the National Niemann Pick Disease Foundation. June 8 is the day set aside for everyone to join in and make a difference to help fund a cure for this terrible terminal illness that effects our kid's. Check out www.probass.com or www.bassangler.com for more details or call 334-687-6266. Plenty of fun for Mom and the kid's while Dad is out on the big water. The children will not need any fishing equipment as we will provide everything to catch fish and give away rods & reels to the first 200 to register at Lakepoint State Park at 8:00 A.M. in Eufaula, Alabama. Clowns, rides casting and more is planned for the kid's.

'Till next report, God Bless & Good Fishn'
