Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

The bass are staging on the first ledge now and are hitting the crank baits fairly regular. The Corps has done a great job with the water tables, it was down just long enough to let all the vegetation germinate and with the water back up some, there is plenty of cover for early and late top water action with spinner baits, finesse or top water plugs. The post spawn stress has taken its toll on some of the bigger bass. This is a natural happening when the weather is warm, there are no threats of fish kills due to human errors. This is Gods way of population control. Problems begin when man gets in the way and tries to "fix" things. The water level today is at 188.3 and looks good for holding.
Blue gill and crappie are doing well, the weather is getting hot early and shade is the place to be.
Catfish are always willing and make the best table fare of any fish on the river.
June 12 is coming up fast. don't miss out on the Lee King Benefit Buddy Tournament and Kid's Fun Day. The Kid's Day is all free and sanctioned by Hooked on Fishing International and Wal-Mart. The Mercury powered Stratos 285 PROXL will be given to one lucky winner at the drawing. For a tax deductible donation on $100.00 for research, you can be in the hopper for this beautiful, ready to fish rig. Check out ww.leekingbenefit.org for more info or call 334 687 6266.
