March 4, 2006
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report
Lake Eufaula, Alabama
Water level 188.43
Water temperature 54 degrees in the creeks to 67 degrees on the river in the afternoon
Water clarity Muddy in the river to stained in the creeks. Cleaner water South of the Teasel.
Bass are hard pressed to bite in the muddy water. Some are attempting to pre-spawn in the back of the cleaner creeks. Few vi sable now and then. Catches are mostly coming from shallow water two feet or less close to deeper water. Jigs with trick trailers are doing well as well as craw type baits.
Crappie are coming on better every day. Trolling jigs tipped with minnows will bring in a few along. As the water clears up, crappie action will get hotter.
Pan fish are slow, warmer weather will turn them on as the water clears up.
Cats are always cooperating and like the muddy water. The Big Cat Quest is scheduled again early in April and will bring some of the best pro's from across the country to show off their skills.
The Lee King Benefit Buddy tournament is coming up June 10, 2006. The new Stators, Mercury, Johnson Outdoors rig is here and done up in a flashy yellow and black. Check out www.leekingbenefit.org for details. Someone will win this beautiful rig for a $25.00 chance.
"till next report,
God Bless & Good Fishn'
Capt. Sam
