Alabama Fishing Report for Lake Eufaula

Capt. Sam Williams
October 16, 2006
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake Eufaula, Alabama Lake level not available today Water temperature 84 degrees in the river 86 in the creeks Clarity, stained to clear

Bass are hitting in the shallows on frogs and jigs. The new frog from Big Bite Bait is really producing the bigger bass. You can order this on line at www.bigbitebait.com The jigs rigged with a Pa ca craw trailer are getting great results. I found a web site that will beat every price you can find on the craw, go to www.coosatackle.com Let Frank know you read about it in this report. The Kinami flash and creature baits are working when the bass slow down later in the morning. Rig them on your jig or use them Texas style with no or little weight. If you like to crank, the Mann's 20 or 30+ are getting bit on the first drop worked extra slow. The crystal glow blue is good.

The bass are in one to two feet of water and are hitting slow moving bait.

Cat fish continue to make for a great day of fishing. They make a great meal. Jug bites are good in the creeks, the smaller fish are hitting worms and crickets on tight lines.

Crappie are beginning to do well as the weather cools down. Daytime fish are hitting minnows on the river drops in the mornings, night fishing will pick up more as the mosquitos give in to the cold spells.

Visit www.leekingbenefit.org and see the ways you can become involved in helping us raise money for a cure for this terminal in=illness, Niemann-Pick. The boat tickets are ready now and the tournament date is June 9,2007. Mark it on your calendar and don't miss this fun weekend.

God Bless & Good Fishn' Capt. Sam Williams
