Lay Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report
Fishing on Lay Lake has been good, even with the hot temperatures. The striped bass bass is good and numbers are still high. It's a early morning or late evening bite right now. Live shad or trolling are the top producers. As for the bass bite it's good, but you are going to have to put in the work to make it pay off. It's hot and if your up for a grind, 14-20 lb bags are what you'll end up with. The spotted bass are deep and the largemouth are in grass. Bites best when they have been running current in the evening. As for the catfish fish bite it's on fire and 30-40 lbers are hitting the deck regularly. Deep water holes slow drifting cut bait or live bait are the top producers. As for the crappie fishing it's slow, period.
