Orange Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report
Alabama Red Snapper
April 28th, 2006
A nice catch of red snapper on this 12 hour trip with Jerrod and his group. We planned to fish deepwater for a variety of fish, including grouper and snapper but the current was running so hard we could not get a bait down. After a tough morning, we decided the travel to another area. We got out of the current and got on a couple of hot snapper bites and caught a legal limit of red snapper. We also caught some triggerfish and grouper. I just received a report that the current had finally slowed down and the fish are biting much better. We are still looking for that trip to our favorite spots without having to fight the current. sounds like it may be here. We are still in search for the "Big Red Snapper". We are not on the board yet, but our largest snapper caught in the tournament last year would actually be in 2nd place if we had caught it this year. I have 6 weekdays open during the tournament, May 8,9,10,16,17 and 18th. Come take a shot at $25,000 for a $5 ticket.
