Gulf Coast Fishing Report - Orange Beach

Capt. Don McPherson
January 15, 2007
Orange Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Alabama Deep Sea Fishing

Mid January is here and fishing has been good so far. There just has not been a great amount of anglers. The redfish fishing is still very good nearshore. We have caught bull redfish averaging 20 pounds. There has been very little offshore action in the past two weeks. I have received reports from a couple of Captains that have caught triggerfish, vermillion snapper, a few grouper and a few amberjack on full day trips. We had an offshore bottomfishing trip scheduled last week and a cold front came through and we have rescheduled. I will never try to talk anyone into travelling to Orange Beach if I know the weather and sea conditions are not good. We look forward to the next trip. We will have the Getaway in the boatyard for regular annual maintenance for 1 - 2 weeks. Look for more fishing reports in a couple of weeks.
