Orange Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report
Winter fishing Gulf Shores, Orange Beach redfish
Winter fishing Gulf Shores offers some awesome Alabama saltwater fishing along with Orange Beach redfishing. The Alabama redfish are here. The first redfish appeared along the beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach just a few days ago. These big beautiful fish can be a blast with light tackle fishing here in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. They are being caught on 4, 6 and 8 hour trips. We enjoyed having Bruce and Lee from Georgia. These two gentlemen booked the boat for themselves and we all had a great time. They told me when they booked the trip that they wanted to release their fish. I always appreciate anyone that practices conservation. If you want to keep fish then that is fine. You choose. We were trolling within 20 minutes from the time we departed the dock. After approximately an hour we hooked into several bonita on light tackle that gave the guys a good fight. Then finally two rods bent over and we had double redfish on. Awesome ! We started trolling back toward the dock and just before we entered the pass, one of the rods bent over and the fish was pulling drag. After a good fight, Gill pulled another nice redfish into the boat. A great ending to a 4 hour redfish trip. We were hoping to be able to cast some light tackle into a school of big reds but it did not happen today. Light tackle trolling is still a blast. Alabama saltwater fishing in the winter can offer some great redfish fishing in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Come join us for a 4, 6 or 8 hour nearshore fishing charter. We have pleny of light tackle or you can bring your own.
