Today I had my first bream client of the year, Bruce Johnson. He was intersted in a afternoon trip.   Bruce had called me on the 7th and let me know he was interested in doing some bream fishing. I told him there would be no problem finding bream cause for a couple weeks I have been fishing bream beds for bass.  He wanted his limit in bream and to do some bass fishing if we had time. So we meet at Hames Marina at noon and headed out. With summer like weather and the sun high in the sky I knew this was going to be a hot one. Right across from Hames was our first spot. It didn't take long as we put ten in the cooler. This keep going till we fulled it up with sixty on ice. We had time left to do some bass fishing and with the sun starting to hide behind some hills. We fished topwater for the last hour and a half.  I had two different topwater lures tied on. One was the Lunker Punker G2 and a Sammy85. He felt more at home with the smaller lure and I choose the bigger one. It started off slow with some small fish and a few blow ups with no hook up. But with every 20 minutes and the suns retreat. The bite improved as we landed several quality fish. With the biggest fish being landed 15 minutes before we headed back. It was a 5lb 5oz largemouth.  It was caught on Black Dog Baits Lunker Punker G2. I made a long cast over some underwater brush and before a fallen tree. The lure landed a inch from the tree, I looked at Bruce and called my shot.  I told him there has to be a big bass there.  After three twitches the water exploded. Wish I could be that right all the time.    This makes  2 out of 3 days that in the last 15 minutes I've landed largemouth weighing 5 and 8 pounds. Biggest topwater fish of the year.  After that fish we called it a day, plenty of bream with some bass action to top it off. Another great day on the water.
