Smith Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report
Smith Lake
December 9th, 2011
This is the first weekend I don't have a trip, my Saturday trip rescheduled. I'll be on the water this weekend, cause I have trips starting back on Monday. The bite was pretty good today, after a slow start to the week. We fished for crappie and bass Friday, we caught most of our crappie in depths ranging from 14-25 feet. The crappie bite has picked up and should continue to over the next couple weeks. We boated several 1 pound slabs and 3 over two pounds on Bobby Garlands "Slab Slay'R. As for the bass fishing, it's slowed a little. Shaky head and drop shot caught the most fish Friday. 10-20 foot depths is where we got the most bites. Points with quick drops produced the most fish.
Striped bass fishing continues to be good, fish are moving to the north end of the lake.

Friends church needed meat for a fish fry, so we helped out, mostly crappie and a couple dink bass.
