We hit the water around 10am this morning, it was pretty cold. But the bite stayed hot till around 1:45 - 2:00pm. We caught a couple around Goat Island, (1) on the right side and (2) on the back side. All were caught on umbrella rigs in the 25-40 foot range. White and chartreuse bucktail jigs were the color of choice. We moved to a spot not far from Goat Island, that i am going to leave unnamed. We started working areas with water depths of 45-100 feet. We found several groups of fish and the action stayed hot for awhile. We were in double digits in no time, the only down side of the afternoon was we caught average fish. A lot of 6 - 11 pound fish, as you can see in pictures on my website. After 1pm the action slowed down and by 2pm it was over. All in all it was a great day with steady action and good company. With this weekends weather everybody should take opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy some of the warmer days left in winter.
