Smith Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

On Smith Lake fishing for monster striped bass really picks up in Mid December and goes all the way through May. Striper Cartel guide Brian Farley is already putting some monsters in the boat. Mid - lake to the north ends are where all the action is. There is a good topwater bites in the mornings and afternoons. You can also catch fish using planner boards and down lines during this time too. You can catch fish throughout the whole day during this time of year.

Topwater will be ending within the next couple weeks with cooler weather moving in everyday. Water temp is 55 degrees and when it hits 50 we'll lose our topwater bite.
