Smith Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report
Smith Lake
May 4th, 2014
After our busiest April to date, there wasn't anytime to update the website. Then add in a blow truck engine, which lead to a new truck. Plus a blown power head on my boat, makes for a crazy month. I'll also be updating the websites over the next month. I'm adding a live bait page, we're supplying five bait shops with fish now. By the end of the month you'll be able to get bait almost anywhere on the lake. Page will have maps with all the locations where bait is available. It will also include hours of operation for some locations and others are self serve 24/7.
We're also opening up four more spots to the striper club. We have 26 members. For over two years we've keep club numbers to 25 people. We're bumping it up to 30 because all the interest. So weather your a newbie to stripe fishing or you just need help finding the fish. This club has it all, checkout my website for more info or give me a call.
As for the fishing right now, it's good when we have clear water to fish. We have fish in several different stages right now. So a lot of tactics are available to catch fish right now. We're also starting to see some decent topwater action in the mornings now. While big fish season isn't over yet, it's getting close. It's been a crazy start to the year weather wise. Hopefully it want get crazy hot and will have some phenomenal fishing during May - August. I'll be posting reports again by next week and updating pictures, videos and last months highlights.
